Mayor Bill DeLoser - Honestly Is Not His Best Policy

downdowndinkeronco

Mayor Bill Deloser is the quintessential example of a Tiny with a big thirst for power, and in a city like Dinkeron, he’s a master at playing the game. He’s a tiny figure in the physical sense, but his grip on the city is anything but small—he knows that in Dinkeron, power isn’t measured by how big you are, but by how many people you can squeeze for cash.

In the City:

Deloser is always moving around the city, but he’s never truly part of it. He’s constantly surrounded by a small entourage of bodyguards and assistants—mostly local goons or former campaign donors who now serve as his enforcers. Whether he’s shaking hands with voters at the diner, giving a speech in the park, or attending a "gala" at the sleazy motel (where you might catch him mixing with lowlifes and criminals), Deloser’s only concern is staying in office, by any means necessary.

His charm can be convincing, but those who are wise to his ways know that he’s always on the hunt for his next donation. For every citizen he "helps," there’s another he’s extorted, bribed, or blackmailed into supporting his campaign. He’s like a cockroach—hard to crush, and with a knack for crawling into every crevice of the city’s corrupt system.

Personality:

Deloser is a master manipulator. He’s charming when he needs to be, but he’s also a wheedler, a liar, and a schemer at his core. His pitch for campaign donations is relentless—everywhere he goes, whether it's the record store, the diner, or even the hospital waiting room, he’s always asking for money. He knows that in Dinkeron, power isn't just about votes; it's about how much you can get away with, and he’s made a career out of exploiting that fact.

He has an almost desperate air about him when it comes to funding his campaigns, always talking about how the city "needs him" to restore order, when in reality, he's just interested in keeping his pockets stuffed. His donations are never just about supporting his election—they often come with a price. Some citizens have reported him promising to "look into issues" in exchange for money, though no one’s ever seen results. For Deloser, the only thing that truly matters is staying in power, and staying in the game.

Corruption:

Deloser’s corruption is as evident as his constant plea for campaign contributions. He’s knee-deep in shady deals with the city’s most notorious criminals, politicians, and business owners. In exchange for donations, he turns a blind eye to their criminal activities, helps them evade the pawlice, and even allows certain businesses (like the catnip dealers) to operate without interference. His "business partners" know that a hefty contribution to his re-election fund ensures that they'll get what they need—whether it’s a land deal, a shady zoning permit, or protection from the law.

His ties to criminal syndicates are whispered about in dark alleys, though no one dares speak openly, given his ability to ruin anyone who crosses him. The police, the courts, even local media—Deloser has his fingers in all of them. He’s adept at using his small size to his advantage, ducking under the radar of larger figures, pulling strings from the shadows while maintaining a publicly "innocent" facade.

The Campaign Trail:

Though he’s always out and about, shaking hands and handing out flyers (which are often taller than he is), Mayor Deloser’s campaign events are more like low-key hustles than genuine rallies. He’ll show up at the diner, treat the regulars to greasy meals, and press them for donations under the guise of a "private meeting about the future of Dinkeron." The speech he gives is always the same: "Dinkeron is a city that needs strong leadership. I’ve made promises to you, the people. But to make those promises a reality, I need your support... and your money."

His usual tactic is to present a list of grand plans—revamping the pawlice station, cleaning up the streets, reducing crime—things that sound great on paper but rarely come to fruition. The truth is, he’s bought off by the highest bidder. Crime and corruption flourish under his watch, but he never runs out of ways to justify it as "necessary compromises."

The Mayor’s Office:

Deloser's office, nestled in the heart of City Hall, is a strange sight to behold. It’s an oversized room that seems to swallow him whole, with gigantic furniture and an even larger desk where he conducts his shady dealings. The walls are adorned with portraits of past mayors—none of whom were as tiny, or as slimy, as Deloser. He has a large vault hidden behind a bookshelf, and it’s said to contain records of all his illicit dealings, as well as a large stash of money he's "borrowed" from his "donors."

It’s also in his office that Deloser keeps a vast collection of campaign memorabilia, from bumper stickers and t-shirts to entire promotional billboards he has stored for posterity. His "office staff" is a rotating group of interns and "advisors" who seem more like underpaid assistants who clean up after him than actual politicians. They rarely speak, but it’s clear they’re well aware of the mayor’s dark dealings and avoid asking too many questions.
